Our Japan: Your Journey
Your memories, written to measure
DiscoverA wonderful trip in every respect: the places, the transport
I asked Axel to organise our trip to Japan. Starting from the few things we could not leave out, Axel built and proposed a bespoke route, an absolutely fantastic one, to make the most of our stay.
A wonderful trip in every respect: the places, the transport (trains + buses + local networks), the hotels (very comfortable and always ideally located), two guided days, a very complete road book.
Excellent communication before and during the stay (one earthquake alert and one typhoon alert — Axel kept us informed and gave us everything to follow if we needed it).
I would turn to Cocolo Travel and Axel again without the slightest hesitation, and I warmly recommend them to anyone who wants to travel with peace of mind, without falling into the classic “package tour”.
We even saw Mount Fuji on the train back from Osaka to Tokyo
We spent two extraordinary weeks in Japan (21 April – 5 May 2026). Thank you for being the cornerstone of it, and for organising a stay that answered our expectations completely.
The choice of the four hotels in Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka was really very good. Very comfortable and, above all, very well placed in the middle of the life of those cities. Staying that long in the three of them was the right decision. We loved Tokyo, and we also took great pleasure in Osaka (for the bustle) and Kyoto (for the history and the culture).
The two side trips, to Hakone and Mount Koya, worked just as well. A beautiful outing (bus, boat, cable car) in the sun at Hakone. A more spiritual, more historical walk at Koyasan, sadly in the rain.
Not one problem with any of the transport (shinkansen, trains, metro, buses). Very clear directions, very well organised. We even saw Mount Fuji on the train back from Osaka to Tokyo. No trouble either with the three luggage transfers between hotels.
The two guided visits were very useful, and above all the two guides were very friendly and explained the places well. The road book was clear and made it easy to anticipate and plan our days.
In short, we had an excellent stay and we will keep a memorable impression of it. We want to go back, of course: there are so many places we did not see, and others we would like to see again.
We loved walking the Kumano Kodo, the hikes were fantastic
The trip was truly without equal. It answered our expectations, it was balanced and well aligned with what we had wanted to do.
We loved walking the Kumano Kodo, the hikes were fantastic, and staying in family homes let us interact with people much more.
We greatly appreciated both sides of it: the perfect organisation and the very precise information in our travel book, and the flexibility and freedom the trip left us. We had never taken an organised trip before, and we never felt constrained by the organisation of this one — it was help to travel more easily and efficiently, without losing the freedom of travelling alone.
The trip was well organised and well documented. The timing was perfect
We come back delighted with our trip. What a fine discovery, in the culture, in the range of places we saw, and in the food.
Our warm thanks to Merouane and his team. The trip was well organised and well documented. The timing was perfect. The information we were given, on the logistics as much as on what to see, was of great use to us, as was the help from Yukihiro the day after we arrived.
The lodgings chosen — temple, ryokan and hotel — matched exactly what we had hoped for. Again, a very big thank you.
The two guides were great, we loved the days we spent with them
This trip was entirely successful and matched our expectations. Thank you to Merouane for his support and his quick answers.
The road book looked a little complex, but at the moment of each step everything in it turned out to be perfectly precise. The stays at the ryokan and in the monastery were incredible.
The two guides were great, we loved the days we spent with them. We are delighted.
Everything was spot on: the preparation, the transfers, the hotels
Everything was spot on: the preparation, the anticipation, the arrangement of the transfers, hotels, visits, guides, taxis… everything.
Everyone enjoyed the trip, the activities, and the pace
A very fine two-week trip to Japan, as a family with two teenagers. Everyone enjoyed the trip, the activities, and the pace.
Organising the trip was simple and our agent knew how to advise us on all the ideas we had. Everything was booked properly and we had no bad surprises.
Perfect organisation, they really listen. An agency to recommend
Nothing to say, except that we had a few unforeseen turns and the agency answered them admirably. Perfect organisation, they really listen. Honestly, an agency to recommend.
My husband and I had dreamed of it, and it was better
An unforgettable experience with geishas. My husband and I had dreamed of it, and it was better still than what we imagined. We recommend this rare experience.

How we work
Find
Every address is tried in person, in the right season, before it earns a place in our notes.
Compose
An itinerary is drawn around a person and a rhythm — never the other way round.
Watch over
While you travel, we arrange the invisible. All you have to do is be there.
The signatures
Our signature journeys are paths already traced, never fixed programmes. We lay the weave with care, then leave it open — so that together it tightens, shifts, and becomes yours.
See the pathsSide trips
Two or three days to slot into your journey — a side trip along the way, or a detour that widens it. Each stands on its own, or grafts onto an itinerary. Compose as you like.
See the side tripsTo experience
The soul of a place hides beneath its surfaces. On an island in constant movement, it gives itself in passing — a gesture, a material, a meeting. The possibilities run on without end: we explore them one at a time, and keep only those that look like you.
